At first glance it would be easy to underestimate Sue Rooney, Owner of four local Great Clips Franchises in the Seattle area. Her good looks and easy charm are disarming and belie the strong, savvy and successful businesswoman she has become. Hailing originally from Montana, Sue moved here in 1998 already a successful Great Clips Franchisee. Sue has since opened Great Clips Hair Salon Franchises in Edmonds, Lynnwood and most recently on 44th Ave in Mountlake Terrace with a fourth store on the Eastside in the Kirkland/Redmond Area. Sue built her business while she and her husband raised two kids, now in High School and College and while pursuing her other passions of Youth Soccer and supporting supplemental educational opportunities in lesser developed areas of the world. Sue is an avid supporter of the Stoneflower Foundation which is currently funding supplemental education and nutritional efforts in Brazil. Sue will tell you that her rise hasn’t been accomplished all by herself though. She feels strongly that her business is an empowerment vehicle that allows her to partner with other strong women to run the company successfully. Valarie Apodaca, pictured here, is the Lynnwood Store manager and suppports Sue in developing the other local stores as well.
